Eating out along the Mississippi Gulf Coast is an experience and generally a joy.  I have travelled around the country visiting all but four states, Canada, Mexico, most of Europe and Egypt.  Actually a better statement is that I have eaten myself through all of these places.  One thing you learn is that food like politics is “local”.  A dish prepared in one restaurant in for example San Diego will be different from the same dish prepared in Denver or Biloxi.  There are no standards for foods such as the correct way to make a hamburger.

Ok, so your way of making a hamburger is the best.  That’s what everyone says.  I just like the differences between regions of the world and how they prepare their foods in some cases just a little bit different than a neighbor.  Now let’s discuss real food, that is food prepared in family owned and some times corporate specialty restaurants.  If you eat at a Chilis for example, the food should taste the same nation wide.  It’s the differences I want to explore on this site.

I have eaten at a number of establishments along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and come prepared to blog about most of them.  This is not a travelog and the purpose is not to compete with travel websites where you can leave comments.  If I will not go back to the restaurant, I will not write about it.  If have eaten at a restaurant where the food moves across the table or “critters” eat more than I do, you will not hear about it.  I leave it to others discuss their experiences on Facebook.

Because you took the time to read about some of the restaurants that i have dined at, please be kind and let the proprietor know you read about the business on this blog.
