Starting with reason one, this is my 100th post for RetireCoast.com. Reasons 2 through 100 are all the same, there is some good article here that has helped people. While my blog covers several areas, it has directly caused several couples to move from where there were to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It’s been my pleasure to meet them in person.

Others have commented on using some of my comments to improve their lives in various ways. You will notice that this blog is not full of advertisements. I will occasionally insert some links for products that I believe in and probably used. That’s not to say in the future I may not add more advertising. Over time as I add plugins and pay for hosting etc., there is a real cost to maintaining my site.

Of course, my time is the most valuable but I love passing along information that I am familiar with. Hosting this site has been great. Meeting new people, as a result, is a bonus. Sometimes an idea comes to me which causes me to consult other blogs and information to get the complete picture. On occasion, I find that I need to update an article as things have changed.

COVID a good example

When the COVID thing hit, I thought I should say something although I was far from an expert. Instead of focusing my efforts on its impacts on daily life. I have since taken some articles down because they are no longer relevant. Mississippi where I live has been very active in permitting people to get on with their lives. This has permitted me to speculate about how COVID has affected the lives of people in other areas.

Some have decided to relocate to Mississippi in part due to the lack of COVID lockdowns. Schools have been open which is great. I do not want to spend any more of my space here talking about this, we are all burned out on COVID. I just hope the Chinese are not working on COVID II.

While this is officially my 100th article, I have written a few dozen more which I have taken down for some reason or never posted. Sometimes an event angers me so I take to the computer and lay it out. After thinking about it, I will usually not make it public. It takes great effort not to use my blog as a political tool. I find it hard to stay neutral about lots of things that at one time were common topics of discussion not on one of the other sides.

Plenty to discuss without digging a hole

I have found so many topics that are not political or racist to discuss so I stick with what I know. As I am writing this, I just realized that for more than 20 years, I owned and operated a national business that collected and recycled hazardous waste from homes. After all of these years of blogging, I have never really discussed what I did for that 20 years.

Well, you are not in luck, I will not go into those years here, when I retired from the company that I started after selling it, I have not looked back. I loved my company and my employees. We helped improve the environment for hundreds of thousands of people over all those years. It was, however, time to hit the road with new challenges such as this blog.

No one taught me how to get started with this blog and without a doubt, my site optimization could be much better than it is. If only I took the time to improve the articles for discovery purposes. Instead, I just write more articles and do the best with the time I have. Over the years, I have gradually learned how to improve my technical experience.

Thanks to all of you, my visitors

I appreciate your time to review my blog articles. Hundreds of you every week visit and read an article here and there. I wish more of you would leave comments on the page. Some of you send comments through the connect section on the right of the blog articles. Thanks for those comments. If you would like me to create an article about any topic that you are interested in please contact me. If it’s anything that I have come across over the years, I will be glad to write it.

Should you notice that I often leave links to Logan-Anderson, Gulf Coast Realtors its because I own a Real Estate Brokerage with partners. I started this blog several years before I became a real estate agent and then a broker. Keyladder is another one of my businesses that focuses on helping people invest in residential rental property. Christies Gulf Beach Rentals is yet another business that rents vacation properties.

All of these activities keep me pretty busy every day. Between working with clients and blogging, I find time to do things with my lovely wife of over 40 years. During the few minutes when I am not at the computer or with clients, we love to sit on our deck and watch the big birds fly around our boat dock on the Bayou. My desire with this blog is to see that all of my readers achieve the same or better measure of success in their lives that I have achieved.

In closing

People must prosper. It takes hard work and focuses which I discuss at length in articles. You can achieve what you desire if you have a clear vision of what that is. Before closing, I invite you to read the most read article on my site: “Why I decided to retire in Ocean Springs, MS”. Sorry for the preaching as I close this article but that’s the reason for the blog. Thanks again.
