Most people think of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Ocean Springs as a place with great beaches. That’s true however there is much more to experience. Old Fort Bayou is a ten-mile-long “bayou” or river that connects to Biloxi Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. This short video shows you the view from a boat traveling about 30 mph.

Take a boat trip with us

This is why so many decided to vacation along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Some don’t want to leave so they buy houses and stay here. Wake up every morning, go to your boathouse, and drive your boat down to one of the local restaurants for coffee.

Why not consider retiring here? Read my article about my decision to retire in Ocean Springs, Mississippi by clicking here. While I ultimately decided to put off retirement, I indulge in the Gulf Life all of the time.

My wife and I drive along the beautiful coast anytime we have to go somewhere. We love to drive around and look at the beautiful custom homes built on waterways. The weather is great and that combination of blue water and blue skies is wonderfhttps://youtu.be/orsqlBGjQ78ul.

I just wanted to share these videos with you

I was taking my boat to the boat ramp and thought it was time I took a video of the trip. I have many others with family members having fun on the boat. The water is flat as ice and on occasion, I would run up the throttle around some curves.

Even on the hottest days, the wind through my hair cools me down. There are so many waterways here, that it’s hard to choose which to drive up. Everywhere you look you see a custom home that someone decided would be perfect by the water.

You need not live in the homes to appreciate them. Since you are in the boat, you have access to everything.

Did someone say Aligators on Old Fort Bayou?

Caught on Old Fort Bayou

I have lived on Old Fort Bayou for years and have never seen a live alligator. This one was caught about 200 yards from my boat house by a neighbor. So not only have I not seen a live alligator, but I have found out that they are very large. I have never heard of any boat or kayak being swamped by an alligator on Old Fort Bayou. Lots of interesting things swimming in Old Fort Bayou
